Looking for a supportive, collaborative space to learn, practice, or develop your English language skills? The Family Center offers free English lessons with 2 learning levels this Fall: Beginner and Advanced.

Beginner Level English Lessons will take place on Mondays every week from 9/23 to 11/18 in the Family Center. All learning materials will be provided by the lesson instructor. 

What you will learn in the Beginner level class:

• Essential communication skills and foundational grammar through everyday scenarios, such as ordering at a restaurant, visiting a doctor, making appointments, banking, and navigating transportation, etc.
• Equip students to confidently manage daily tasks and integrate into their new community here at Philly.

What you will learn in the Advanced level class: 

• Engage in conversations that focus on navigating everyday scenarios and learn about local traditions. 
• Plan to make connections to lived or real world experiences!
• Equip students to confidently manage daily tasks and integrate into their new community here at Philly. 

English Lessons offered through the Family Center are free and available for adult family FRC members of student and postdoc parents at Penn! 

This event is for beginner level only. Noting you can only register for either one class at the moment but can always switch to another section if you wish. 

Location: 3615 Locust Walk, Lower Level of the Graduate Student Center

There is a front and side building entrance, both with a device for Penn Card swipe-access as well as touch screen doorbells. The Family Center can be found when you come down the stairwell, or select “B” in the elevator.
